The process
How It Works
Setting up Telepulse is designed to be straightforward. No developers required, no lengthy onboarding. Here is what the process looks like from first contact to a live dashboard.
Understanding your setup
Every business arrives at Telepulse with a different configuration of tools. Some have one main spreadsheet and two invoicing platforms. Others have a more complex picture with multiple team members maintaining separate files.
Before any technical setup begins, we map out what you are working with. Which spreadsheets exist, what they contain, which invoicing platform you use, and how often the data in each one changes. This conversation typically takes one session.
Connecting your sources
Each data source is connected using standard authentication methods. For cloud-based tools like Google Sheets or Xero, this is an OAuth flow that takes a few clicks. For file-based sources, you upload the file and we configure the reading rules. At no point does Telepulse require administrative access to your accounts.
Mapping your data fields
Once connected, you tell Telepulse what each column or field represents. Invoice number, client name, amount, due date, payment status. This mapping is the core of how Telepulse understands your data. It is done through a visual interface, not code, and can be adjusted at any point.
Configuring your dashboard view
Choose which panels appear on your dashboard and in what order. Overdue invoices, cash flow summary, expense totals by category, recent entries from your spreadsheets. The layout reflects your priorities, not a default template.
Setting up alerts
Define the conditions that matter. An invoice overdue by more than seven days. A total that falls outside an expected range. A new entry in a spreadsheet that matches certain criteria. Alerts arrive by email so nothing requires you to check the dashboard manually.
Going live
Once configuration is confirmed, the dashboard goes live. From this point it updates automatically. Your source data continues to live exactly where it always has. Telepulse reads from it and presents it, nothing more. Your team continues working in the tools they know.
Common questions
Does Telepulse change anything in my source files?
No. Telepulse operates on a read-only basis. It reads your spreadsheets and invoicing data to display it, but does not write to, alter or delete anything in the original files or platforms.
What happens if I update a spreadsheet?
The dashboard reflects the change on its next refresh cycle. For cloud-connected sources like Google Sheets, this typically happens within minutes. For uploaded files, you update by uploading a new version.
Can multiple people use the same dashboard?
Yes. Access can be configured for multiple users within your organisation, each with appropriate permission levels. A director may see the full picture while a finance assistant sees only what is relevant to their role.
Is there a minimum contract period?
Details of access arrangements are discussed during the initial conversation. Get in touch to talk through what would suit your business and timeline.
